THE PACK IS UNLEASHED - October 2026 Newsletter
Bandtober is here β and The Pack is ready.
After months of rehearsals, camps, Friday nights, prop building, volunteering, fundraising, and countless hours of work, October brings the moments we have been building toward all season.
On October 10, the Band of Fury travels to Coastal Carolina University to compete at Bands of America, taking The Pack to the national stage. Then, on October 31, we close out the month at the SCBDA 4A State Championships.
The work is done one rehearsal at a time.
Now it's time to take the stage. πΊ
COMPETITION RESULTS π
Congratulations to our students on a fantastic start to competition season!
At the Easley Tournament of Champions, the Band of Fury competed in Class 4 and earned:
π₯ 2nd Place β Class 4
π₯ BEST PERCUSSION
Congratulations to our students, directors, staff, and everyone who helped make our first competition of the season a success!
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 β PERFORMANCE & BOA PREPARATION
There is an important schedule change for Friday.
Because of the extremely early BOA schedule Saturday morning, the Band of Fury will NOT attend Friday night's football game.
Instead:
4:00β5:15 PM β Rehearsal
5:30 PM β Performance in the stadium
Immediately Following β Pack and load for BOA
Approximately 7:00 PM β Students dismissed as a group once loading is complete
This allows us to get our equipment headed toward Myrtle Beach Friday evening while giving students as much opportunity as possible to rest before an extremely early Saturday morning.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 β BANDS OF AMERICA
THE PACK IS GOING NATIONAL!
One of the biggest moments of our season is here.
The Band of Fury will take The Pack to Coastal Carolina University and compete alongside 30 high school marching bands from across the Nation at Bands of America.
It will be an incredibly full day, beginning before sunrise and potentially continuing through a Finals performance Saturday night.
Please carefully review the BOA itinerary below and make sure your student arrives prepared for the entire trip.
BOA OVERNIGHT β WHAT TO BRING
Students should pack everything they will need for the overnight trip while keeping luggage to necessary items.
Please make sure your student has:
β’ Change of clothes
β’ Undergarments
β’ Extra long black socks
β’ Toiletries and personal hygiene items
β’ Phone charger
β’ Any other personal necessities for an overnight trip
Students are responsible for keeping track of their belongings, so please make sure personal items are clearly identifiable.
BOA MEALS π½οΈ
Hospitality will provide students with:
Saturday: Breakfast & Lunch
Sunday: Breakfast
Students should bring money for dinner Saturday evening. Food trucks will be available at BOA for students to purchase dinner.
Additional meal details will be communicated with the final BOA trip information.
IMPORTANT β STUDENT MEDICATIONS π
If your student will need medication administered during the BOA trip, a completed medical form is REQUIRED.
Please follow all instructions on the form and provide ONLY the amount of medication required for the trip.
IMPORTANT: Place ALL medications for your student together inside ONE LARGE ZIPLOCK BAG clearly labeled with the student's FIRST AND LAST NAME.
This helps Mr. Tillman safely organize and keep track of student medications throughout the trip.
END OF QUARTER GRADES π
The end of the quarter is approaching.
ALL outstanding assignments must be completed by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7.
Assignments will NOT be accepted after October 7. There will be no exceptions, as students have had the entire quarter to complete late assignments.
Please encourage your student to check their grades and make sure everything is completed before the deadline.

All Honors students are required to participate in:
β’ Auditions
β’ Clinics
β’ Solo & Ensemble

ITβS OUR TIME π₯
This is what we have been building toward.
Every rehearsal. Every camp. Every Friday night. Every early morning and late night. Every hour our students, staff, families, and volunteers have poured into this program has helped bring The Pack to this moment.
This month, our students will take their show to the national stage at Bands of America. Then, they'll have one final opportunity to leave it all on the field at the SCBDA 4A State Championships.
Thank you to our directors and staff, our students who continue putting in the work, and every parent, volunteer, donor, and supporter standing behind them.
The Pack is ready.
It's time to take the field.
It's time to show them all:
